Vasquez Rocks Natural Area Park
Wildwood Park
Was searching for a wooded area to run scale RC 4x4s. North of the Dog park is a bridge that actually crosses the Braden River, although this part of the river is very narrow and shallow, more like a creek. I found some foot paths that take you down to the shore. After a hard rain there was only about 6 in of water flowing downstream. Once things dry up a little I'm sure there is only an inch or so of water covering the stream bed, perfect for RC river crossings!
Greenbrook Adventure Park
Large natural wooded area with adjacent river nearby with a kayak and canoe launch. Lot of unspoiled terrain for scale RC trail riding.
Rye Wilderness Park
Boxcar Canyon
Park on Berggren Rd E, just before the tracks.Walk down the tracks. Go past the spot about 200 ft. There will be a trail that leads to the rock.

this area can be used for crawling when the water is low. also has rocky shoreline
Green Lakes State Park
My Favorite spot to go on lunch and crawl ( I work 5 minutes away ). very large steep hill with loose limestone and shale pieces. some spots are more solid and better for crawling. many trails to walk and bike, lots of rock all around the area. very fun place to go and crawl/trail run.
Linklaen State Forest
almost 5,000 Acres of state land, this marker is located at one of my favorite spots near my hunting camp, there is a long winding rocky creek that you can walk and crawl as far as you desire. lots of shale and metamorphic rock, large hills, rocks, logs, and it is located in the middle of nowhere.

Quarry Rock
Bickley Brook Resivior
Bickley Brook Resivior
Clark Reservation SP
a beautiful state park to either trail or crawl, large rocky outcroppings and large rock formations, miles of hiking trails, a meromictic glacial lake to fish. this place has it all. it is also a botanical sanctuary for some species of rare endangered ferns and other plants so mind your step if you make your way off trail
Great Bear Recreational Area
miles of hiking trails and lots of hills, not as rocky as other places but there are plenty of roots and hills, streams and other challenges for your crawler. my favorite local spot to go for a trail run and hike. This area is mainly used for biking, so bring your bike if you have one (helps getting to the good spots down by the river) its quite a long walk to get down to the river but that area is better for crawling.
Salmon River Falls
an incredibly beautiful natural resource and an extreme challenge for your crawler (if you want it to be). breathtaking views of the waterfall. extremely rocky area with water to play in (obviously). the walking trail to get down into the river bed itself would be a challenge to crawl as it is very challenging just to walk. there are also trails connected at the parking lot if you would rather go for a trail run and don't want to make your way down into the gorge.

this is a no Trust passing area that people go 4x4 in with Real Trucks. im not sure if the entrance is still passable but if it is there is alot of clay and wet trails. some of the main area's have clay and sand hill climbs mostly wet pine needle covered trails with nasty streams
Split Rock Quarry
An absolutely perfect place to bring your crawler is this abandoned (and supposedly haunted) abandoned rock quarry in Onondaga. steep hills, not-so-steep hils, rocks, gravel, sand. everything you could ask for. the abandoned stone crusher building is apparently haunted and there are usually ghost hunters around in the fall months at night.
Great R/C wheeling areas down along the river banks....Good camping also

There is a wooded area in the back of the park that is surrounded by a stream, it's kinda like an island since you have to cross a bridge to get in there!

Oswego Steam Station
public access, also known as "flatrock". lots of rocks to crawl on all over the shoreline. easy to challenging. if youre in the mood for a walk you can also walk out the break wall which has some good craggy broken areas that would be conducive to crawling. you can walk all the way out to the lighthouse but you are not supposed to walk out that far. when you get to that point is is amazing for crawling but it can become very dangerous quickly if the wind comes up and you don't have time to get back in to safety. many people have had to be rescued because of waves washing over the wall. use caution
